Day 72: Strengthening the Foundation
Moving from Cardio to Power
As I enter the final stretch of these 90 days, the Pre-Visual Phase is starting to show its face in the form of raw strength. For years, I’ve relied on spinning as my primary movement, it’s familiar, it’s effective, and it didn’t hurt my knees. But as my identity has shifted, so has my body’s request for a new kind of challenge.
Body Recomposition
Last week, I officially integrated a new weight training plan into my regular gym routine. In the past, adding a new workout felt like a “burden” or something I “had” to do. Now, it feels like an upgrade to my health span and longevity.
Building Density: While spinning keeps my heart healthy, weight training is about building the literal framework of muscle that supports my alignment.
Consistency over Intensity: The win isn’t in lifting the heaviest weights on day one; it’s in the quiet discipline of showing up for the reps when the “newness” wears off. Focusing on breath and form.
Beyond the Rebound
The reason this feels different from my past attempts is that I am no longer exercising for a payoff on the scale. I am training because I am a woman who values her strength and her future.
Weight training requires a different kind of focus, it demands that you be fully present in your body. It is the ultimate meditation in motion. I’m moving through the world a bit more grounded in my step. As the amount I can lift goes up each week, it
feels like the outside is finally beginning to match the inside.
